The LM4898 is a fully differential audio powerdemandingamplifierapplications in mobile phones and other portablecommunication device applications. It is capable ofdelivering 1 watt of continuous average power to an8Ω BTL load with less than 1% distortion (THD+N)from a 5VDC power supply.Boomer audio power amplifiers were designedspecifically to provide high quality output power with acomponents. Theminimal amount of externalLM4898 does not require output coupling capacitorsor bootstrap capacitors, and therefore is ideally suitedfor mobile phone and other low voltage applicationswhere minimal power consumption is a primaryrequirement.The LM4898 features a low-power consumptionshutdown mode. To facilitate this, Shutdown may beenabled by either logic high or low depending onmode selection. Driving the shutdown mode pin eitherhigh or low enables the shutdown select pin to bedriven in a likewise manner to enable Shutdown.Additionally, the LM4898 features an internal thermalshutdown protection mechanism.The LM4898 contains advanced pop and clickcircuitry which virtually eliminates noises which wouldotherwiseturn-offtransitions.turn-onduringoccurandFigure 1.
