The ZSSC4169D-14 is member of Renesas’ family ofCMOS integrated circuits for highly accurateamplification and sensor-specific correction of differentialbridge sensor element signals. Featuring a maximumanalog pre-amplification in the range of up to 200, theZSSC4169D-14 is adjustable to nearly all resistivebridges.Digital compensation of offset, gain, sensitivity,temperature drift, and nonlinearity is accomplished via a16-bit RISC microcontroller. Calibration coefficients andconfiguration data are stored in the ZSSC4169D-14nonvolatile memory (NVM), which is reliable inautomotive applications.The ZSSC4169D-14 supports using the internal PTAT orexternal diodes as temperature references.Measured values are provided via a digital SENTinterface. The SENT interface enables transmission ofsensor data via its Fast Channel as well as transmissionof supplementary data via its Serial Data Message(SDM) Channel (also referred to as the “slow” channel)using only one output pin. End-of-line calibration is alsosupported through this output pin via a One-WireInterface (OWI). The ZSSC4169D-14 and the calibrationequipment communicate digitally, so the noise sensitivityis greatly reduced. Digital calibration helps keepassembly cost low as no trimming by external devices orlasers is needed.The ZSSC4169D-14 is optimized for automotiveenvironments by overvoltage and reverse polarityprotection circuitry, excellent electromagneticcompatibility, and multiple diagnostic features.
