PVN013 General Description
The PVN013 Series Photovoltaic Relay at 100milliohms features the lowest possible on-stateresistance in a miniature package — lower than acomparable reed relay. The PVN013 is a single-pole, normally open solid-state relay. It utilizes a GenerationV HEXFET outputswitch, driven by an integrated circuit photovoltaicgenerator of novel construction. The output switchis controlled by radiation from a GaAlAs lightemitting diode (LED) which is optically isolated fromthe photovoltaic generator. These units exceed the performance capabilitiesof electromechanical relays in life, sensitivity, stableon-resistance, low off-state leakage, miniaturization, magnetic insensitivity and ruggedness. They areideally suited for switching high currents or low levelsignals without distortion or injection of electricalnoise.Series PVN013 Relays are packaged in a6-lead molded DIP package with either thru-holeor surface mount (gull-wing) terminals. They areavailable in standard plastic shipping tubes or ontape-and-reel. Please refer to part identificationinformation opposite.
