HFBR-1521 Description

The Versatile Link series is a complete family of fiberoptic link components for applications requiring a lowcost solution. The HFBR-0501 seriesincludestransmitters, receivers, connectors and cable specifiedfor easy design. This series of components is ideal forsolving problems with voltage isolation/insulation,EMI/RFI immunity or data security. The optical link designis simplified by the logic compatible receivers andcomplete specifications for each component. The keyoptical and electrical parameters of links configured withthe HFBR-0501 family are fully guaranteed from 0° to70°C.A wide variety of package configurations and connectorsprovide the designer with numerous mechanical solutionsto meet application requirements. The transmitter andreceiver components have been designed for use in highvolume/low cost assembly processes such as autoinsertion and wave soldering.Transmitters incorporate a 660 nm LED. Receiversinclude a monolithic dc coupled, digital IC receiver withopen collector Schottky output transistor. An internalpullup resistor is available for use in the HFBR-25X1/2/4receivers. A shield has been integrated into the receiverIC to provide additional, localized noise immunity.Internal optics have been optimized for use with 1 mmdiameter plastic optical fiber. Versatile Link specificationsincorporate all connector interface losses. Therefore,optical calculations for common link applications aresimplified.
